A tall jug of white blossoms and dark, feathery foliage rises from a rumpled cloth, with four lemons lined up along the table's edge. Everything sits in a hushed, pale-grey room, so the lemons' yellow is the only bright note. Coppieters keeps the palette narrow and lets the brushwork do the work: the blossoms are built from thick, creamy dabs, and the leaves are stabbed in as dark, confident marks. The result is a still life that feels both loose and carefully composed.
The soft neutrals and sage tones fit almost any room. It suits a kitchen, dining room, entryway, or bedroom, and the vertical format works well on a narrow wall or in a still-life gallery grouping.
